I am a third-year Ph.D. student in Bioinformatics at the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBMS), Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). My research focuses on two main areas: identifying novel structural variants to classify patients with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) using long-read sequencing, and investigating the mechanisms of distinct mutational signatures in B-ALL subtypes. I am supervised by Professor Jason Wing Hon Wong.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Bioinformatics from Harbin Medical University (HMU) in 2019, followed by a Master of Science degree in Biology from the Shanghai Institute of Hematology (SIH) at Ruijin Hospital affiliated with School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SHSMU) in 2022. During my Master’s studies, I investigated the mechanisms of leukemogenesis across various subtypes, including IGH::DUX4 and MEF2D fusions. After graduation, I worked for 10 months as a technician at the Shanghai Institute of Immunology (SII), where I was involved in sequencing platform construction.

Nov 20, 2024	I forgot to mention that Hongxin has published a preview titled Finish the unfinished: Chd1 resolving hexasome-nucleosome complex with FACT on 19 September.
Dec 01, 2023	I am delighted to share that the manuscript titled Transcription factor 12 mediated self-feedback regulatory mechanism is required in DUX4 fusion leukemia has been accepted by the esteemed journal, Clinical and Translational Medicine (CTM), following an extensive review and revision process spanning nearly two years. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr Zhihui Li, one of the co-authors, for her invaluable assistance. Without her contributions, I believe it would not have been possible for us to have this entire story accepted by CTM.
